Kathmandu : The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Wednesday confirmed the detection of 13 new cases of coronavirus infection. With this, the COVID count has reached 978,538. Additionally, 3 persons have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2in the antigen test.
Likewise, the MoHP has recorded 0 deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The ministry on May 19 recorded 184 deaths, the highest daily number. As of Wednesday, the nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 11,951. Presently, there are 812 active cases in Nepal.
Meanwhile, the three districts of Kathmandu valley alone have recorded 5 cases in the past 24 hours. Kathmandu logged 5 cases, and Lalitpur and Bhaktapur both logged 0 cases, as per the data released by the MoHP.
As many as 57 patients with COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. As of Wednesday, a total of 965,822 people have recovered from the viral disease, the data released by the MoHP showed. Presently, the recovery rate stands at 98.7 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.2 per cent.
As of Wednesday, a total of 5,566,414 people have undergone the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test. Presently, there are 726 people staying in isolation while 106 others have been placed in quarantine in the country.
